Beach on Mustang Island in Corpus Christi is seeing the surf rapidly pick up to breakers. Surfers surfing in the red flag waters, kids playing, people are coming to the beach to illegally fill up sandbags as the City is woefully unprepared with people lined up for miles and shortages of both sand, sandbags and sand bagging locations (video of long sandbag lines in earlier package). No evacuation orders in what is about to be a major disaster. Officials are closing down the beach but many people are still out. Rain lingers just offshore as Harvey continues it’s rapid intensification. In over 20 years of chasing this is the least prepared I’ve ever seen a city about to get slammed by a hurricane.
