German Sebastian Steudtner is the new record holder for the biggest wave ever surfed, a 26 metre (86ft) wave ridden on October 29, 2020 in Nazaré, Portugal. The video recently resurfaced after Guinness World Records certified the record-breaking feat on May 24, 2022. The giant wave was surfed in Nazaré, a site known for its massive swells caused by a large fault line on the ocean floor.

This was in Nazaré, in Portugal.
I am from Lisbon, not Nazaré, but I have been to Nazaré. There were no big waves that day but I want to go back and see these giants too.
The moment I saw this the first word that came to my mind was cowabunga
That's a funkin* suinami
Ain't this humanga donga of Pokemon
oh i heard this guy’s name but really just imagine falling or messing up in the middle of that 26m wave
This looks like a tsunami scene in some disaster movie, without the surfer
But did the surfer manage to stick his flag on the upper part of a tall rock?
☠️☠️ 💀 ☠️☠️
Seriously nobody surfed a tsunami before ?
Nothing but respect for this surfer, right on
This is so cool, just finished watching a documentary on this specific topic weeks ago!
