Big Wave Surfer and Hall Of Fame Waterman Kai Lenny rides one of the biggest waves surfed at Jaws on December 31st 2019. The day was filled with massive XXL surf and lots of wet weather. In the beginning of this clip you can see a windsurfer in the frame. While Kai was being towed into this wave the windsurfer ended up in between the jet ski and Kai which gave Kai no choice but to let go of the tow rope early and hope he had enough speed to get into this huge wave. After a few pumps the wind held Kai up at the top of the wave causing him to get in late on a critical vertical drop, this whole ride was scary and extreme. This is one of my all time favorite clips of what could possibly be one of the biggest waves ever surfed at Jaws, this wave was a finalist in the last WSL XXL Big Wave Awards for Biggest Wave. I’ve been surfing longer than he’s been alive yet I get sketched on anything over 10 ft. WTH🤪
