Blind surfer takes on some of the biggest waves in the world in Portugal

Australian surfer Matt Formston is among the best disabled surfers in the world and he’s blind but that hasn’t stopped him from taking on waves of around 12 metres high off the Portuguese coast.

Stunning – I also saw a video of a blind fellow that, not being limited by parents/care takers, learned how to form a 3D vision of the world around him by clicking the tongue, to the point where he was climbing trees, doing acrobatics and riding the bike on busy streets, a bit like a real dare-devil!
There is risk, but beyond risk there is life, and a life to be lived to the best of our abilities, and too many times education and fear stifle that potential to a stunted and unhappy life.

Congratulations to all of you that rise above the level that you were condemned to by the ones who thought they were caring for you!
