These straps are great for both my SUP and kayak These straps are great for both my SUP and kayak. The padding really protects my board which is very important. Held up beautifully on an 8 hour round trip with plenty of … Worked as expected. Bought these for a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with roof racks. Held up beautifully on an 8 hour round trip with plenty of crosswinds and having two surfboards strapped down on top of them. There is more than enough strap left over after tightening down. I wrapped the slack around the roof rack crossbars again and then cross wrapped them and tied them to the bars on the side. At first I was having trouble with the straps vibrating against the roof of the car. Driving at 20 mph and it was loud! I got in touch with the company and they suggested putting a few twists in the straps. It worked great but is better the higher I can lift the straps off the roof. One of the straps started to fray just a little bit and they immediately refunded me so I could purchase more straps!I really like the padded scratch protector over the clip.
