The latest board from Tomo pushes surfboard design again. Having it under your arm puts a huge smile on your face, the anticipation of surfing it is almost too much! We had a chance to have a quick surf on a 5′ 5″ and although smaller than you’d choose here’s what happened: even at this small length it paddled really easily, even in choppy conditions the nose didn’t catch. The sheer width of the thing meant it paddled in nice and easy and felt fast, popping up the board feels super stable but very lively.

Hi Thank you for the awesome reviews. I had an evo FST 5'3 for 2 years and loved it until it clean snapped under the lip of a Oaxaca barrell. Living in Texas I travel to surf so I need a versatile board that works in waves ranging from windswells in the Gulf Coast, to California and perfect barrels back home in Mexico. Now I am shopping for a new board, not sure whether to go for the SKX or another EVO.. I really like that it's available in the Timbertek construction too. Thoughts on FST vs Timbertek?
You do look miserable sometimes. But your reviews are brilliant!
wow looks epic fast. Thanks for a great review. How would the evo compare to puddle jumper in 2-3 ft small waves. If it was small and weak which board would u go for.
Eeeii booooiii
Would be great to hear your thoughts after surfing the 5'8 evo. I'm 80kg (probably 83KG with 5mm hooded wetsuit, gloves and boots) and 6'3 in height and im thinking the 5'8 would be the one to go for. I have a 5'7 baked potato and love it. Surf fairly punchy beach breaks and reefs on the north of scotland. Would you recommend smaller or longer? (intermediate surfer)
Great review , thanks … any idea how it would compare to a Tomo . Ion .. similar you think ???
Hi! I like riding my boards as short as possible and weigh around 125-130lbs. Would you say a 4'11 in this model would be a good fit?? Thanks very much for the review
Nice straight review !!!
Hi, excellent review! I can't wait to get mine. One question what split pad are you using on that board? Thanks
