First conditioner ever used I have a pair of hiking boots that are made of fabric, and suede leather. The leather was getting stiff and would easily wet out if I stepped in water. I wanted something to soften the leather so it wouldn’t rip, and I wanted to waterproof them again. This product is not meant for suede or nubuck because it will mat down the fibers, but I wanted to use it anyway because the leather needed conditioning. Sure enough, it darkened the leather and matted down the fibers. I don’t really care about…
I used this conditioner on some timberland boots I bought. They were already beat up a little bit before, but they would get soaked in the snow or rain. I put this on and it definitely reduces the amount of water that penetrates through the leather. I’m not sure how well it worked on the gore tex, not sure how much to put on, and its hard to get the whole tongue. Darkens the leather about to how dark it is lightly wet, if that makes sense. Only reason not 5 stars is because of the lack of gore…
