Anything can be bought in a world bereft of conscience. The goons with their filthy cash will pay $50 bucks a wave and … WIPE OUT! You can watch through the fence since your ocean is a cesspool. Can you say F-U-K-U-S-H-I-M-A? …. Money got your tongue? Since Bali´s toast I guess the dream merchants have no place left to sell.
You can get more board time in one day than you would in one year the traditional way… must be nice.
I personally think wave pools are the shiz! It's like mtb bike parks, when conditions are shit on natural trails I'll head to a mantained bike park for some brapping, jus like if my local break is shit conditions and I'm hanging for a surf then I'll happily heead to a man made wave for some stoke!!
Imagine having that next to the beach for a day without waves

Very emblematic that Kelly Slater chose Jerry Lopez to be the approving authority out of respect. Two fine guys. Helps to make that odd perfect wave a bit more palatable.

If "thats the future" seems kinda lame, what happened to the adventure of being in the wild and connecting with nature? This wave pool is super cool, no doubt, but it takes away much of the beauty of surfing. It's more like ice skating on a rink or snowboarding a park, both are cool/fun, but connecting with nature and the elements away from man-made stuff is where it's at in my opinion.
A future were wave pools become surfing and we're competition are held in wave pools is not a future I wanna see .
