Best paddle swell in recent years hits Jaws aka Peahi on the north shore of Maui, Hawaii on January 11th, 2023.

This swell was in memory of Marcio ‘Mad Dog’ Freire who recently passed away surfing in Nazaré, Portugal. Marcio along with fellow brazilians Yuri Soledad, and Danilo Couto were pioneers when it came to paddle in surfing at Jaws. He was a huge inspiration for many.

It’s Amazing how much nicer the conditions were for Jaws that day versus the choppy and overcast day we had at Waimea Bay for the “Almost Eddie” day Jan 11th. Nice edit as always 🤙🏾
