Kelly Slater delivered an update on his recent foot injury today, and unfortunately the news was bleak. Slater originally posted on his Instagram that he was looking at approximately six weeks recovery time, which eliminated any thoughts of surfing the Billabong Pro Tahiti at Teahupoo, one of his favorite events on the Championship Tour. #WSL #jbay

it would be awesome if he was commentating the rest of the season, I hope he is back next year
best attitude to an injury i've ever seen.. inspirational
I pull for Kelly when he's surfing mostly because I used to surf with him when I was young on the east coast, even roomed with Sean his brother and the NSSA's . Anyhoo, I'm not a fan of his "light hearted" talk. I know he lives for surfing and that's cool but it seems like he elaborates too much every time. I mean, Kelly, just answer the fucking question. Is he trying to get a commentators job? I don't know, whatever, Godspeed to your foot recovery so you can go beat some of the other annoying surfers ?
Be great if Kelly did the heat commentary.
He would be such a great guest judge
Career ender. He's 45 years old, not coming back after this one. Thanks for the memories Kelly. GOAT.
i guess he is human after all.
Post the drone footage of the shark
O rei do surf machucou que pena !
Add kelly to the judge roster while he's recovering!!!
