Actually yes, riding a surfboard you can actually ride in lighter wind than you could with a twin tip. And even in moderate winds you can make smoother long carving turns that are a lot of fun, not to mention that going upwind is very easy on a surfboard. You can have a lot of fun on a surfboard even if you're not in the waves.
