Hey, thanks for the video! What dimensions is your V3?
Hey! so i got this hard in 6'1, really liking it overall, especially in quad, i surf Manly and in summer it can be very small and sometimes mushy, poor sections, and i can t manage to get good sections when it s like 1 foot, i lose speed too quick and i m still a beginner / intermidaire surfer so my technique doesn't help. I m looking at having a retro fish twin fin for those days ! Do you think it s worth it ? or i should be able to surf those mushy small days with the LOST ( So i m just not good enough at the moment). Would be very helpful !! Thanks !
Hi, tried the new Lost Puddle Fish yet? Looking forward to watching your review on this board. Who is it for? Can a surfer coming down from a minimal learn to trim on this board? How stable and how forgiving is it to beginners? What type of waves is it best for and what surfboard is the closest to it it terms of stability and ride? thanks! 🙂
how is this board different to the lost short round?
V3 rocket is the best board I've had, if it does break or snap, I'm getting another but going to put channels in it. Love the review, actually bought this board from the review, fast responsive and fun to paddle. If your thinking about one, go to lost surfboards, use the volume calculator an dial in your new sled. This is one happy customer
Another must have in the quiver. In chest to few feet overhead, the V3 rocket works like a charm. I like that it has volume forward, and feels meaty under the chest. It's a hybrid shortboard that allows older guys like me to rip.
Hi great review chears.
I am a 5'8'' 160 lb (72kg) advanced surfer in above average shape and i am looking for a board to fit my quiver in between my fish and HP shortboard (to replace my CI new flyer).
I usually ride 25-26 L boards and want to add a little volume and thinking about a 5'6'' V3 rocket for small to medium days.
I never rode any of the rocket family and wanted to know what you think and if the V3 rocket will fit my quiver as I hope ?
thanks a lot
I'm an intermediate, 145# surfer, got this in 5'6" stock dims (19.25"W x 2.32"T). I should've got in 19" W x 2.25"T, with a bit more nose rocker. It's a sick board , super fast, turns incredible, but doesn't take steep/late drops as good as some other boards. This board is fast as hell as a quad, rides sick both as a quad and thruster. Definitely get a 5-fin!!
Rode in double overhead Honolua as a thruster and handled like a dream. Stable, easy turns, super fast : )
Awesome even on waist high days as a quad.
Hi benny,
Great review! I'm currently looking at 2 boards. The rare bird and the lost V3, what would you recommend? I'm currently riding the lost Rv for the small Sydney summer surf but am looking at something that I can get on its rails. I'm around 87kgs & 6'3 tall. I generally surf short board that are 5'11 or 6'0 ft long. What's the major difference between the rare bird and the v3? And what do you reckon would suit me best for Sydney northern bleachers surf?
Regards.
Yea Ben, how does the V3 compare to the Short Round?
Great board!
This is a v3 round it not a v3 rocket.
Hey Benny…Im a Fl surfer and my everyday board is similar to the grocket 5'10' (performance fish). Im an average surfer but I'm looking for a travel board for trips to Nica and PR…My question for you is I'm looking for a board to travel with and use in some decent surf, but nothing more than a few feet overhead. Do you think the V3 would be a good board for some traveling to better waves and still be decent back in shitty FL surf? My only concern is size (im 5'9' 175). I wont to avoid as much redundancy as possible (but some is inevitable) so If I were to get a 5'9'' V3, do you think it would still perform in the headhigh surf when I travel? thanks for any input–Scott
Hi Benny. Based on your review and what waves I surf I've decided to order myself a V3 Rocket but undecided on what size to get. I'm 5'8" and 66kg (145lbs), 44 years old and an average/intermediate surfer. I've only recently discovered what a difference the volume of a board can make. I would say I'm above average fitness for my age but only get to surf once a week if I'm lucky. I got a 6'0 Fred Rubble a few months ago which is 28.6 L and feels pretty good but still not sure if it has enough volume or too much. Based on that I was thinking a 5'8" V3 at 29 L but would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Love the show.
Cheers, Warren.
Interesting to see the modified versions of the V3 rocket coming out for 2015 by Lost, eg the V3 Squash-it and V3 Round-it, compare those three bad boys please 🙂
Hey Benny, I'm a lazy San Clemente guy(married w/ kids) and I usually surf Uppers or State Beach. On this V3 what dims do you go w/ compared to your 'normal' sled? I'm 5'10 and 185 and like a little more paddle power. Thanks in advance and great job on the site!
Hey Benny, Im kinda undecided I travel around alot but back at home (Portugal) I mostly surf in mushy surf, not that big, something like from 0.5 -2 mt.
I would like to get a board that is very responsive and still can handle small and mushy surf…
I was looking at CI number 4 and lost v3 Rockt…
Which one do you suggest? Or any other…
P.S: I have a C.I Semi Pro 12 6,1 for better waves
Really appreciate your thoughts! Keep up the good show!
Hey Benny, We met a few weeks back in Mex! We were both enjoying some post surf street tacos and tequila with our friends- one of your buddies had just been married. The swell was amazing that weekend and I'm pumped we bumped into each other! I let you know that I was surfing a recently purchased Lost RV (partially persuaded by your review). It was the perfect board for that swell.
Quick question: What is the best way to custom order a new Lost V3? I want to get a board that has less volume and more agility. The V3 looks like a winner. I look on their website but don't see a phone number?
Thanks man.
This week I tried a Rob Machado Future fin set and I loved, match made in heaven. Chest to waist high, powerful but a little bit mushy conditions.
Benny, I have a Lost Rocket Original. I love it. Really love it. Surf it in everything but do notice that it's not so good in double overhead. I have been thinking of a either the Hypto Krypto or the V3. I really like the idea of multiple fin setup sin the V3. What are your thoughts between them for versatility?. How different does the V3 surf to the original Rocket? I surf NSW South Coast Australia.
