Huge respect to all Eddie competitors. And congrats to Luke, absolutely charging on that fearsome wave. Worthy winner.
Haven't seen all results, must've been close between Luke and Mark Healey.

Matt. says:

Anyone could do that ….

alex carter says:

I saw Waimea when it was closed out, all white. It was a fearsome sight and the thundering of the waves was kind of scary. I saw this from the overlooking bluff, where the heiau is, because I lived way up Pupukea Homestead Road. And yet, my first experience surfing was at Waimea, when it was a lot smaller!

Nils Samuelsson says:

That wave feels like the embodiment of Eddie would go. Huge, closeout and scary.. still he'd go for the hell of it!
Right winner imo 💪

gordon quigg says:

One thing I noticed about Luke Shepherdson, is when the biggest sets were marching in, he caught them outside the ledge where it was not so vertical and he rode them with smooth control, a solid style, and excellent judgement. Nevermind the long ride to the shore break hail Mary. He was focused more on the biggest feathering walls out to sea, and riding them really well. He was clearly ruling with good style.

rod gallagher says:

Real big wave surfing HAWAII!?????

Don nosy Pinocchio says:

It’s a scene from point break..”WILL GET HIM ONCE HE COMES BACK IN”…he’s not coming back 🤪

T.K.91.321 says:

He charged for sure but I thought Healey would have gotten the W today

James Glaskin says:

No free lunch paddling out let alone surfing waves like that. That foam ball hold down would kill most!

Props to all life guards and congrats to Like!

Katarina006 says:
