MASSIVE WAVES AT BLACK’S BEACH AND LA JOLLA COVE. It’s rare when San Diego surf gets big enough for La Jolla cove to start breaking!
A Bombing WNW Swell brought epic surf to California in January 2023. Surfline named this swell one of the top five largest west-northwest swells of the last 15 years. Blacks Beach and La Jolla Cove were two of the spots that could hold the size of this historic swell.

In the 80ss was way bigger swells all the time
Most are La Jolla cove some are Blacks amazing
Almost drowned off shell beach spear fishing. That was more then 10 years ago.. crazy itโs been that long. I surfed and fished these waters for years. I live in Coeur dโ Alene now watching all these insane YouTube videos on this swell. Makes me sad I missed it๐ข
