NAZARE MOMENTS – part 2 – January has been a busy month for big wave surfers in Europe. Many swells and big days where perfect preparation for everyone in the lineup. The forecast promised two huge days with surreal conditions for surfing. While Wednesday the first day of the swell was really windy and hard to surf, Thursday was a day to remember. Many f the best big wave surfers of the world including Axi Munian, Maya Gabeira, Benjamin Sanchis, Ross Clarke Jones, Hugo Vau, Sebastian Steudtner and Eric Rebiere caught some of the biggest waves ever ridden in Nazare, Portugal.

What do say to a sixty foot monster wave that doesn't totally cooperate,thanks for what u got and u still here right…..hugely insane tite those or it just looks that way coz it so tall.

Hello, I'm not a surfer but I would love to see these powerful waves be surfed. What is the best way to monitor when these waves will be at its peak? I need at least 3-4 days of advanced notice so I can book my flight and go there! Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I am what you call a traditional climber. Its the real fucking deal. This style of surfing is the only thing in the world that I would admit is more real deal than traditional ground up climbing! Its insane. Insane. The ocean, let alone waves that massive, blows my mind. Much respect…..Inspirational for sure. Thanks…..
Nazare's waves are crazy crazy huge! I used to go to North Shore Oahu durring winter, those waves I thought were large.
