Nazare New World Record? Sebastien Steutner 100 foot wave🎥

The Big Waves season in Nazare – Portugal, is between October and March. So that is the best time to see the Nazare big waves. Sebastien Steutner caught a huge monster and paid the price, but did he set a new world record?

Big wave season is open and professional surfers took advantage of gigantic waves as high as multistory buildings off the coast of Portugal on Thursday, October 31, 2020.

Hurricane Epsilon created a massive North Atlantic swell which made for some of the biggest waves recorded in the coastal Portuguese town of Nazare, a world-famous big wave spot. Sebastien Steutner might have broken a new world record.

I watched this from under my bed. Holy shit!

antonio dias says:

Holy crap… I made earlier a wrong measure saying it took 2.26 seconds the water falling… Its almost a 3 seconds!!!!! (1:30:15 ->1:33:03)… which gives 2.88 seconds of water in air. By physics gives 40.64 METERS(????)… Can it be???? PLUS the water hit before the wave's base line… Which adds about 3-4 meters… This mega wave is about 43-44 meters(141-144ft). This is not "JUST" 100 ft wave!

Lockedout says:

Balls like coconuts but taking a straight drop and getting cleaned up, easy to have good technique from the beach I know but looked like a makeable wave which is the primary skill in surfing.

James Anderson says:

How do you hold air with that much white water catching you. Thats almost as impressive as the amazing ride.

Around 25 meters(82.02 ft).

Gtensor R says:

Don't trust your eyes, they cheat you all the time. Only after scientific measurement will you know. For example, for me Lucas' best wave was bigger, but I know I can be very wrong.

MaxRPM says:

The planet needs more of these guys "real men" with balls of steel.

Ben Jones says:

God damm beach break!

Sneaky Foz says:

Would have been even more epic if he had a GoPro mounted on his head. Cinematic gold.

John Vanderlip says:

That's some punishment he took for riding the biggest wave ever! Measuring from the top of the crest to the bottom, 100 ft. easy!

Jason Jackson says:

What’s really impressive is that size wave breaking top to bottom 😳
