This Wave Happens Once in 10 000 years. Scientists Have Finally Captured it

Until the late nineteenth century, approximately one ship was mysteriously lost at sea each and every day. Back then, pirates, mythical krakens, or even Poseidon could be blamed for ships’ disappearance. With the development of shipping and the introduction of new technologies, that number has decreased, but even up to twenty oh five, at least two ships per week continued to suffer sudden wrecks, taking many lives to the bottom of the ocean. Who or what is responsible for those crimes? It all comes down to killers. Namely, killer waves. To this day, scientists have no idea how to anticipate them, much less how to escape them. In this video, you’ll get wind of: how do waves play life-or-death chess with ships? Why do thirty-meter breakers exist contrary to the mathematicians’ calculations? And above all, what’s the secret of the killer wave’s perfect crimes?

Insane highlining over big waves in Nazare #shorts

#shorts
Nazaré is known as the spot for the biggest waves in the world and many world records and exceptional achievments shaping the history of this legendary little fishing town in Portugal. During one of the biggest waves of the winter a group of Slackliners operating with the name “Western Riders” where sending their most insane water highline infront of the lighthouse at praia do Norte in Nazaré. Even though the Highlining is not the longest nor the highest the crew has been installing, the intense impact of the mass of water makes it so challenging.

The line has been installed a couple of days before the big swell hit the canyon which is known to create the xxl waves.

The WesternRiders are professional and experienced highliners and install their lines with maximum security.

Garrett McNamara set a record in 2011 and opened up the huge waves through his media appearance to the whole world . Ever since big wave surfers from all over the world come to Portugal.
