Carlos Burle, professional big wave rider, may have ridden a 100 foot wave on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Nazare, Portugal. If confirmed, he will have broken the current record by Garrett McNamara who rode a 78 foot wave in November 2011 at the same location. Carlos Burle is an invitee to the 2013-2014 Mavericks Invitational Surf Contest (mavericksinvitational.com) which runs from November 1st – March 31st.
