One of my favourite trips anywhere this year. I ventured back to my home state of South Australia with legendary big wave & slab hunter Justin ‘Jughead’ Allport plus young up & coming surfer Hughie Vaughan. We head 1000 Kilometres into the desert to that super dangerous slab wave that almost took Dylan Longbottom’s life last year. This wave is mostly a tow wave as it moves so fast. BUT you do get surfers like Russell Bierke, Kael Walsh & Harry Bryant that want to challenge themselves to paddle this wave but as you’ll see it’s not easy. This adventure also features Dylan Robertson & Kipp Caddy and just wait till you see the POV vision from Kipp. Enjoy this adventure..

What a day! The superbank again provides super fun 2ft waves on a sucky left-hand sandbar!
Thanks for watching!

Reblogged 1 month ago from www.youtube.comWe were greeted by some really fun looking waves at the bottom of the hill this morning for our Monday Morning Surf Club. Gani and Max headed in with our 5’10 Fetch and 5’6 ADPT respectively.
They caught a few short rides in the clean conditions and then tried to catch a wave together…
But it didn’t quite go to plan. Gani dug his nose in as the wave bottomed out on him and Max got stuck in the lip, unable to project along the wave. The wave threw them both forwards and they came together. They both survived completely unscathed….the same could not be said for their surfboards though. The 5’10 had some minor damage to the nose and the 5’6 ended up losing a fin and having a large hole in the underside. We think the glass-on fin of the 5’10 landed directly onto the underside of the 5’6 and punctured it. Even in small, playful surf there can still be some power in the ocean!
I quickly nipped to the workshop to drill a hole in the 5’6 to allow it to drain and dry before heading back down to the beach for some waves. After the shock of an event like that unfolding, and knowing the work needed to repair them it was just what I needed….a few glides along some fun, glassy waves.
