It really gets on another level of wipeout when you talk about Teahupoo! Would you have the courage to surf there?
Teahupo’o is a reef break. The swells mainly break left, but the outer reef also creates right breaks that surfers must be cautious of when paddling out. Teahupo’o is also renowned for the consistent number of barrels it delivers. It is a rewarding location and is widely regarded as being on the ‘must-surf’ list of every enthusiastic surfer. However, only experienced surfers in peak physical condition should attempt Teahupo’o; heavy waves combined with a shallow shoreline can result in serious injuries and even death in a wipeout.

The first solid swell of the Season hit the Lagundri Bay heavy, lots of unridden double ups, specially around high-tide, perfect looking but really fast hollow tubes.

The Severn Bore only happens a few times a year and is one of the most unique natural phenomenons. Driven by strong tidal movements, people flock to different parts of the river on Surfboards, SUPs and kayaks to try and surf this single muddy wave. Unfortunately I missed the first wave but managed to catch it a different point on the river that the beauty of a tidal bore.

Reblogged 2 years ago from www.youtube.comTHE BIGGEST, MOST CRITICAL WAVE EVER PADDLED AT NAZARÉ. Native New Yorker Will Skudin and his brother Cliff Skudin took a chance on this late December swell and Nazaré delivered. Garrett McNamara said it best: “Will Skudin on one of the biggest paddle waves I have ever seen, if not the biggest !!! ”
Not only did Will Skudin ride one of the biggest and most critical waves ever paddled into at Nazaré, but he also took one of the gnarliest wipeouts of his life. After surviving the wipeout, Will managed to swim himself to shore. He told us that he was as proud of swimming to shore as he was of catching the wave.
The Skudin brothers personify the spirit of the Red Chargers and this is the payoff.
