Biggest Wave Ever Surfed

In the past 5 years of shooting and documenting xxl swells, these are some of the biggest waves filmed so far from the cliff at Kapukaulua Point, Pe’ahi aka Jaws. Surfing here is a serious commitment that takes lots of time, hard work, and dedication it is inspiring to see every winter season when the biggest waves come through and the best rides happen out in the xxl surf.

Nazaré is home to the biggest wave ever surfed back in 2017 measuring 24.38 metres (80ft) and surfed by Brazilian, Rodrigo Koxa. Basically, Nazaré is the place big-wave surfers come to try their luck and to tackle the liquid mountains that detonate as a result of the underwater canyon sitting just off the coast.

But rumour has it, a wave surfed on Thursday 29th October 2020 could have broken the world record by the big wave surfer Tony Laureano.

Insane BIGGEST Surfing WIPEOUT and daring RESCUE of all time – Grant “Twiggy” Baker at Mavericks

On the biggest paddle day ever at Mavericks, Twiggy goes down on the first wave of the biggest set of the day and proceeds to get pounded by three more 60ft+ waves. Horror water and drone footage of one of the most insane wipeouts and daring rescues in the history of Surfing.

Hurricane Epsilon promised to generate a giant swell in Nazaré for the 28th and 29th of October, coinciding with good wind conditions, and this forecast came about in the best way, with two days of dreams that they were truly crazy for big wave lovers. The day 29/10/2020 was perhaps the best day ever in Nazaré with regard to the big waves, since those mountains of water began to be surfed, according to the opinion of many people. Could it be that some surfer broke the record for a wave sized greater than 100 foot (30 meters)? Let’s wait for the official measurements, with possibly Guinness World Records by young Big Wave Surfer Tony Laureano… According to other people, there is a type of wave that breaks right in front of the lighthouse, called the “big mamma” that can still be bigger, the mystery remains …Big Mamma this mysterious peak appears very few times when the waves are monstrous.
