🌊BIG WAVE NAZARÉ THE BIGGEST TSUNAMI EVER – SURF EN NAZARÉ EL TSUNAMI MAS GRANDE DEL MUNDO! 😱☠️🏄‍♂️

Hello SUPer SURFers!!!

This video can see the incredible size of the largest wave in the world Nazaré, this wave is as big as the most powerful Tsunami in the world!

What produces the giant wave of Nazaré?

Year after year, the expectation grows for the giant waves of Nazaré, which receive the bravest surfers in the world. But what explains the formation of these water walls up to 30 meters high in the north of Portugal?

One hundred kilometers north of Lisbon, Nazaré receives the giant waves generated by the storms of the Atlantic Ocean, hundreds of kilometers away. What makes the waves so much bigger in the region than in other parts of the Portuguese coast is the presence of a submerged canyon: the famous Nazaré canyon.

“Canyons are geomorphological formations normally associated with soil erosion caused by a river. In Nazaré, the origin may be tectonic, that is, the crack opened by an earthquake millions of years ago,” explains geologist Lucca Cunha.
To understand why the canyon is important for the formation of giant waves, it is necessary to understand the contrast between the seabed of the beaches of Nazaré and the north.

In the Nazaré beach is the canyon, with a depth that varies from 50 meters to almost 5,000 meters. Meanwhile, on the North beach, the bottom is the much shallow continental shelf.
Due to the depth, the waves that travel over the Nazaré canyon do not lose speed and change direction. The waves traveling on the continental shelf lose speed and do not change direction. Both are in front of the Nazaré lighthouse, 200 meters from the beach. This union causes the peak to increase even more. This is the main factor for the massive conditions in Nazaré.

In November 2011, Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara surfed a record 24-meter giant wave from the canal to the ridge in Nazaré. In January 2013 a wave was estimated to have measured a maximum height of 30 meters at the same location and possibly exceeded the size of its previous record wave. But On January 10, 2015 Benjamin Sanchis set a new record by surfing a 33-meter wave.
