Pro surfer Joao Chianca from Brazil wipes out at Backdoor while surfing in Hawaii. Glad to report he is in stable condition. Amazing work by the North Shore Lifeguards and fellow surfers gettin him to the beach safely.

I got goosebumps hearing the whistles for help. Altruistic. Good wishes to the surfer.

So glad the surfer is ok. Those lifeguards were great!!
Quanto mais fluido o concreto melhor e mais compactado foca !
The lifeguard put his shirt back while rescuing the surfer…
Lifeguards not watching the water? No good. Alsoβ¦.he went in feet first? What happened?
I almost died at El Porto on a huge day. No lifeguards. No one paying attention. Only God to save me. It's a miracle that I am alive to type this reply. God saved me that day. I will never forget, or take this opportunity for granted.
The only clones I wear now is Dua cause of the hybrids

Sorry for being clueless, does those kinds of waves really hurt you? I have never surfed before and probably wont be able to in my whole lifetime hence the ignorance.. π

He should have been 50 feet back to determine if the wave had enough power and if he could secure his balance when it reached maximum power. Thereβs a lot of equations that must be conquered in a split second to be a good surfer. It takes years of practice and hardship to have the right grit and respect for the power of nature.
I need to learn how to whistle like that
