It’s hard to imagine the epicenter of technically graceful logging as anywhere other than Malibu. Every summer, thousands of longboarders descend on the place to feel the freedom of First Point in cruise control. On a blistering fall afternoon, Australia’s Harrison Roach and San Diego stylist Nathan Strom went to Malibu and cross-stepped their way to the nose at modern surfing’s birthplace, hanging heels and paying homage to California’s classic pointbreak.
