Surfer Rescued after Huge Wipeout in Nazare, Portugal

A surfer was rescued after a huge wipeout in Nazare, Portugal, in this crazy surfing video captured in February.

Veteran surfer Salvador Villas Boas was riding one of the biggest waves of the day in February 2019 until a bump knocks him off into the water near some rocks in Nazaré, Portugal.

As the second wave closes in on the stranded surfer professional jetski rescuer Ramon Laureano saves Villas Boas by dragging him out of harm’s way.

Pedro Miranda, who captured this dramatic footage, told Newsflare: “This rescue in particular was truly one of the most heroic moments I witnessed out there. With more than 20 years of big wave experience, Ramon performed one of the most difficult rescues one can attempt in Nazaré.

“To pick up someone directly on the first peak’s impact zone between waves is something you don’t see every day here. Ramon was a real hero, no doubt!”

Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous worldwide for huge waves.

That's crazy! Such big massive waves.

He should have left the surfer and went back for him after.

How fast are those waves travelling. Im sure that experienced jet ski driver would be going full throttle and those things easily pick up speeds straight away of 20-30mph but in that foam is it possible? Seemed like last minute he lost control and turned around into the wave as well!

There’s absolutely no way I’d go anywhere near that surf.
Those surfers are very brave or insane.
Glad they both got out safely 👍👍👍

That’s the roughest surf 🏄‍♀️I’ve ever seen! I hope they lived! I saw the 2 guys walking on the beach near the ski toward the end, but wasn’t sure that is them or not.
