Round 1 had clean four-to-six foot (1.5 metre) waves at the primary venue of Keramas.

Some of the Round 1 winners included: Adriano De Souza, Kolohe Andino, Jordy Smith, Damien Hobgood, Filipe Toledo, CJ Hobgood, Michel Bourez, Julian Wilson, and John John Florence.

John John Florence earned a perfect 10 point-ride, that was probably one of the biggest airs in a competition to date.

As far as Round 2 goes, Taj Burrow beat out wildcard Bruce Irons in small 2-3 foot surf. Also take a look at Joel Parkinson’s Round 2 heat against a local and tell me if you think Joel should have one that heat.

Attention San Diego, Mira Costa community college has a nationally-ranked surf Team, which in 2011 and 2012 was the NSSA National Champion. If you are looking to get involved with surfing this is a good option.

We continue south for our last update and land at the Los Cabos Open of Surf.

Competition has been called off on the opening day but started on day 2 in about 2-foot waves. The comp stated off with the Round of 144.
