5 years late to the party BBC…. Otherwise excellent shots…
You should be filming stuff like this more often…

These guys are just nuts. Biggest wave I’ve surfed is probably 8 feet and even that was just a wild rush. The speed and intensity is exhilarating. I can’t even imagine what these guys go through while on the wave.

Fun to ride. Incredibly boring to watch more than a couple waves. Its survival not surfing.

As a kid growing up in SoCal surfing at Huntington, this is AMAZING! The power of the ocean on full display EPIC! 🤙🏽

The narrator's voice was fine, but his script was awful and really off-putting.

Nazarre's stunning, and powerful waves is on my bucket list as someone who loves the ocean and the incredible beauty of it.
Yet having been a lifeguard for many years, and seeing squishy humans in the mist of them, knowing full well what risk the humans are taking?
Argh!
Thank you for the amazing points of view, which highlight our insignificance in the face of mother nature 🤯💗

This BBC narrator makes it sound like I am watching some exotic lizard getting ready to extend its tongue and catch a bug.

@photobossbali says:

Incredible footage of Nazare, hard to believe this wave has only come into the limelight the past 20 years. I cant imagine the wipeouts out at a spot like that. Great to see Andrew and the other British guys giving it a go. Can we see more of these please BBC?

@eroldcroft3045 says:

I surfed there. Got me ass handed. Rode one and barely escaped. I failed 3 times and almost drowned

@DougieL says:

"And from the commentary box a slow, serious voice with lots of pauses…"

@princethumper says:

Just doesn't hit the same without Sir David Attenborough narrating

@MyFreeDR says:

I want to come back to Nazare

I mean its TOWIN, Is WINDSURFING ALSO Counted? Being pulled into a wave by a motorized vehicle and feet strapped into a board is essentially water skiing being towed on a surfboard instead of skis, and from a jetski vice a boat. It just seems to be cheating in my opine to be labeled as surfing. PADDLE IN IS the REAL SURFING!🏄

@martinginsburg7222 says:

This is NOT SURFING. It is waterskiing & those SEADOOS are doing up the Sea.
GROSS, even my dead grandma could tow-in

@ingridhohmann3523 says:

Heart pounding ocean blue 💙 😍
