Brazil isn’t a country known for its big waves and yet, over the past decade, Brazilians have been dominating the world of surfing. But why tho? Filmmaker Andy Burgess explores what it is about athletes like Lucas “Chumbo” Chianca, Mateus Herdy, Carlos Burle, Rodrigo Koxa and more that have led them to become champions of the surfing world, despite not growing up in big wave surfing hostpots.

Hey guys, thanks so much for checking out this video! Was a lot of fun to make, I'd love to know in this thread who your favourite Brazilian Surfer is?
Also if you want to see more videos about Brazil, I have a recent episode about the history of Samba in the Favelas.
Obrigado Lula
A verdade é que o Brasil domina tudo, UFC é um dos melhores, futebol tem o maior da história, f1 tem o maior da história, surf é um dos melhores, vôlei é um dos melhores
Que vídeo sensacional!! 😍🙏🏼🇧🇷🚀
Brazilians always smiling lol. Tá difícil. Mas vai dar certo. Sorria
Fluminense ❤💚💟
É Brasil poooooooooorrrrrrraaaaaa!!!! 🇧🇷
Two factors were crucial…many more people speak English, air tickets became cheaper, this new generation travels much more than before.
But come one…why every foreign video has to show favelas…WTF, only a minority of people live there. You showed a favela in Sao Paulo, 50 miles from the beach.
So many beautiful beach cities to show. Dont be lazy, get some good shots.

Fizeram um jutsu de invocação e eu to aqui
we arrived! we're just getting started 🤙🏾🇧🇷
Se o brasileiro quiser ele domina até o rockey e o ballet
We pay one of the world's largest tax caragas, it is difficult leftover money. It is difficult and very expensive to leave Brazil and go to another country, mainly to the USA, many who leave here have to go to do their best. Or give your best or stay home!

Quem me convocou?
Easy, we crazy bro, we need just one chance.
porque eles podem surfar todos os dias e você não precisa ser rico no Brasil para surfar. no Havaí, eles são considerados uma nação diferente dos EUA. WSL only promotes the people they want. Just like F1, you have to be rich to be in WSL. There are 400 guys in Brazil that are just as good as the guys in Pipe masters but they won't get a chance because red bull and WSL wants to promote a certain aesthetic with their athletes. Same reason surfing is in the olympics in 2024 in Tahiti. If it was a real competition there would be 15x as many brazilians as there are, but no, Japan gets to compete…. Please. Will people competing for Hawaii in WSL compete as Team USA in 2024 Olympics????
For sure surf in Brazil is awelsome! Every time i can i go surf and the waves were perfect!
I live in Brazil!
Brazil has been dominant in many sports over time: football, Formula 1, Mix Martial Arts, BJJ and now surfing.
Please boycott Red Bull until they hand over the murderer to face Thai justice. Thank you.
Brazil is a good country
I'm Brazilian and I am very proud about this video

I literally live in the amazon, so I rarely see the sea or even surf. But its an interesting video
I met a few Brazilians here in Australia and they are really very good at football, surfing and volleyball.
Dont forget, the most popular radical sports in brazil during years , was Skateboard. we had the best skaters as well. I think there is alot of conection. Brazil are the most larggest skateboard community in the wolrd, then we discovery when u fall at the water, hurts less than at
asphalt. thats why alot of brazilian surfers 😀 AUEIHRUHERH BR Iam brazilian and i never had surf in my life, but iam proud for we be the best surfers in the world right noow! and the worse english speakers ever! ahahaha
Brazilians are know for "do much with very little", thats the awnser!
Título: "Brazilians"
