While much of the surf world’s attention was focused on The Eddie at Waimea Bay on Sunday, a whole bunch of the world’s best big wave surfers were tackling extremely giant Pe’ahi on Maui. Started out with some very large paddle waves with Albee Layer and Wilem Banks taking on some bombs. But by noon, everything changed. Tow-only. As big as it gets. “It was the biggest I’ve ever seen there,” said longtime filmer Adam Carbajal. Turned into a full tow session. We called Albee Layer to find out more, but he said, “Celebrating being alive right now, haha I can talk tomorrow.” Stay tuned.

If only the Eddie was there instead !
2:55 homie is on a mission to destroy the bro haha
That entire clip was nuts, the paddlers breaking new ground , Albee was next level , and the tow waves were massive and at that stage maybe not even possible to be paddled , legends all of them .
Tow ins are for losers!
Where was Kai Lenny?
High performance to da MAX!!
incredible surfing ! kudos to all who took part and those who organised it
The boys/MEN are paddling in at this size? I don’t like to use the word record but that’s amazing to me.
This was so great! The spirit of the Eddie and Hawaii was on display for all who were watching. Respect!
This could very well be the most powerful, fastest moving Pe'ahi ever. Mad respect to the paddlers.
Ty Simpson -Kane, mad respect.
Good swell.
Why was the Hawaiian flag flown upside-down at 412?🌊🏄♂️
Jaws is like Waimea and Pipe coming together, size and shape
Devolition is an awesome choice for background.
These are God's wonders of this world.
How’s that Bradah stalling!? NUTS
Paddlers got more barred than the tow guys. If Albee got whipped in he wouldn't dodge those 60 foot pits.
0:36 you know what else is massive?
WOWZERS!!! JAWS!
